Well, in a given situation Eclipse will guide you towards refactoring bliss by showing you a neat list of all the applicable refactorings. Select a symbol and hit Ctrl-Alt-T and a dropdown menu will appear, then select whichever refactoring that catches your fancy and you’ll be a few short clicks away from completing your refactoring.
